Opportunity Rocks is a satirical look on the backhanded stereotypes that fuel America and its promises of “opportunity.” Greg Ott and Bryan Duff have skillfully crafted a smart, informative and introspective show that I recommend for anyone interested in a thoughtful challenge and earned laugh.
George Lusk is Caleb George and Matt Lusk. A two-man show that starts off by asking for an audience suggestion of a difficult conversation they had with their parents. From there they dive into their characters and usually spend a full 25 minutes in a singular scene “playing at the speed of life.”
When you put up a show about women and food theres’s a real good chance for disaster. However, when you put up a show about women and food and you cut the crap, you’ll find that seven ladies not only can hold delightful conversation but they’re funny and they have exquisite Table Manners.
To Kill An Angry Bird was everything I’d ever want in a sketch show. Annie Goodson (Writer/Director) and Willie Opper (Writer/Producer) hit the nail on the head with this intricate portrayal of human evolution and unfortunate flaws in our modern culture.
The 17th Annual Chicago Improv Festival had 204 ensembles, 95 shows, represented nine different countries at 21 different venues throughout Chicago. It was nuts. But it was grand.
